Journey into the sacred practice of herbology with reverence, responsibility, and deep cultural sensitivity. This foundational course guides bodyworkers, students, and community herbalists through the essentials of safe and ethical herbal practice, emphasizing the importance of building right relationships with the earth, plants, and indigenous wisdom. Explore the significance of ethical wildcrafting, respecting local customs and laws, and honoring the intelligence and contributions of indigenous cultures and traditions.

This introductory course offers students a clear and grounded orientation to the safe, respectful, and ethical use of herbs in healing arts. Designed especially for massage therapists, herbal beginners, and holistic practitioners, it presents a foundational framework for working with plants responsibly—physically, legally, energetically, and ecologically. Through lecture, discussion, and guided reflection, students will explore topics including basic herbal safety, understanding contraindications, ethical sourcing and harvesting, and the limits of herbal scope of practice. Students will also be introduced to frameworks of cultural respect, reciprocity, and the importance of plant ally relationship in healing work.
