Identifying Skin Conditions and Understanding Massage Implications

The skin is the body’s largest organβ€”and often its first voice. It reflects health, infection, trauma, immunity, and even emotional distress. For massage therapists, it is both our interface and our insight. This 4-hour course provides an essential review of common skin pathologies, with an emphasis on clinical relevance, visual recognition, and treatment safety. Students will learn to differentiate contagious from non-contagious conditions, identify when to refer out, and know how to adapt or withhold massage appropriately. Through vivid images, real-world examples, and hands-on safety protocols, this course equips massage professionals to practice with skill, caution, and clarity when encountering skin concerns.
