Identifying Skin Conditions and Understanding Massage Implications

The skin is the body’s largest organ—and often its first voice. It reflects health, infection, trauma, immunity, and even emotional distress. For massage therapists, it is both our interface and our insight. This 4-hour course provides an essential review of common skin pathologies, with an emphasis on clinical relevance, visual recognition, and treatment safety. Students will learn to differentiate contagious from non-contagious conditions, identify when to refer out, and know how to adapt or withhold massage appropriately. Through vivid images, real-world examples, and hands-on safety protocols, this course equips massage professionals to practice with skill, caution, and clarity when encountering skin concerns.
