Structural Anatomy and Kinesiology
The Dance of Structure and Movement
Deep exploration of human anatomy and the mechanics of movement, essential for effective and safe massage therapy practice.
Structural Anatomy & Kinesiology courses provide a foundational and region-specific exploration of human anatomy and kinesiology tailored for professional bodyworkers. Students begin with an Orientation to the Human Body and an overview of the Human Skeleton, followed by an in-depth look at the Classification of Joints and Muscles. The curriculum then progresses through a detailed regional study of the musculoskeletal system, including the Head, Neck and Jaw, Spine and Thorax, Shoulder and Arm, Elbow, Forearm, Wrist and Hand, Pelvis and Hip, Thigh and Knee, and Leg, Ankle and Foot. Each 8-hour course blends anatomical structure with functional movement, empowering students to develop a precise understanding of how the body moves and how to apply that knowledge in clinical and therapeutic settings.
